It all started when my sister received a sewing machine as a gift which I kind of took over. My first piece was a patchwork shirt for my eccentric father. First I had to sew all the squares together before cutting out the pattern pieces, incidentally I used an old shirt as a template for this! Needless to say my father loved it.
After developing my skills I began making my own party dresses. I was able to put this talent to use when I had my first home, making elegant curtains, voiles, drapes and beaded cushions. It wasn’t until I started working for a popular ladies retail store, Principles, that I started using my skills on a professional basis. Altering jackets, trousers and dresses for many of our customers. I soon developed a strong client base and have relied upon word of mouth to develop my business. The best part is, I really enjoy my job!
I now have several machines, I just can’t seem to part with them even when I get a new one – you never know when you may need it so my granddad used to say 😉
So if you have anything that needs altering or repairing, perhaps you have a pair of curtains that need shortening, conservatory or patio furniture that needs a fresh new look, please get in touch and I will be happy to help.
No job is too small 🙂
