There are any ways to dress your windows around your home. Choosing a design that suits you and your home is very important, as it choosing the right fabric.
I recently had the pleasure to dress some windows for a very lovely lady.
She already had in mind what style she wanted and I have to say the finished result looks impressive.
We went for a red, beige and brown striped fabric for the hall and landing. The curtains were then completed by coordinating tie backs and lightly padded box pelmets.
Moving through into the ladies bedroom, she wanted a very simplistic elegant feel. To obtain this I used a soft cream silk fabric with a hint of diamanté. I have to say, I am very pleased with the finished result.
When looking for fabrics yourself, why not ask the assistant to unroll some of the fabric so you can get a better idea of how it will look made up.
From time to time, even our more cherished and cared for garments show signs of wear and tear. Before you think about recycling the item why not consider having it repaired? Even holes can be repaired so you will barely notice they were there!
I have recently been approached by two lovely gentlemen who had minor holes in their formal suit jackets. Using a special technique, I was able to reduce the appearance of the holes quite significantly on both occasions.
The image below shows the hole before, during the repair and after the repair has been carries out.
Having the jackets repaired meant that they did not have to pay out for a new suit, so it proved much more cost effective!

I thought it would be nice to make some more simpler, subtle, Christmas gift bags for older children or adults. I love the bark stars combined with the glittery white felt stars on these silver organza bags. If you want to keep the contents a surprise, why not wrap them in silver tissue paper before popping in the gift bag! Then the gift woudnt require any further wrapping 😉
These bags are approximately 7″ tall but can be made to any size.
Please message me if you require further information.
Many thanks Helen 🙂
Today I have been designing gift bags for a local chocolate shop. I was asked to make some small bags aimed towards children. To keep with the Christmas feel I decided to use red organza as the main fabric. Organza is epsceially good if you would like to be able to see what is inside. The front of the bag is decorated with felt Christmas symbols, like holly and candy canes. The bags each have two draw strings to enable the bag to be closed and a small gift tag.
Instead of a standard square bag, these have a circular base which helps give the bag a better shape, like a sack, when filled. It will also stand up as opposed to lying down.
I can make these to order in a broad range of colours to suit any occasion. They would also work really well as small gift bags for wedding favours.
Well it has been non stop here these last few weeks what with the bridal season reaching it’s peak and people looking to get there home ship shape now that the children have gone back to school 😉
Once things begin to settle down my plan is to add a selection of images of the work I have been doing so that you can get a better idea of the standard of my work and the diversity of the job.
In the meantime I’d like to say thank you for taking the time to read this. If you have any queries please contact me.
Yours Helen 😉
